MBPFW: Day 4

Last but definitely not least, Day 4 of Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week was one to remember.

When we think of fashion, our minds often conjure images of tall, slim models radiating quiet luxury. But this week has consistently defied those expectations — pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion with bold textures, daring prints, and unexpected inspirations. Still, nothing could have prepared us for Day 4 to kick off with a Chappell Roan soundtrack — welcome to the world of Dominika Kozáková.

The young Slovak designer, now based in Prague, is known for her fearless experimentation, and at MBPFW, she reminded us once again that for her, life itself is a runway. Her collection was a visual journey of the soul — full of highs and lows, joy and sorrow. From fluttering, deconstructed silhouettes to armor-like metallic dresses and nomadic knitwear, Kozáková explored the tension between vulnerability and strength, merging fantasy, nature, and raw emotion.

With a cast of diverse models — including different body types and even a model in a wheelchair — Dominika sent a powerful message: no matter your age, race, or proportions, you deserve to take up space — in fashion, and everywhere else. Inclusivity here wasn’t a gimmick — it was Hot to Go.

Next, Aleš Hnátek presented his latest collection, Wardrobe 2, continuing the philosophy of his earlier works with a focus on sustainability. Inspired by the aesthetics of everyday life and rooted in the Arte Povera art movement, the collection’s starting point was the material itself — specifically, discarded textiles Hnátek collects and archives for future use. For him, fashion isn’t about fleeting trends; it’s about longevity. With its clean lines and understated elegance, Wardrobe 2 isn’t going anywhere soon.

And then came the long-awaited return of Petra Ptáčková — and she made sure we wouldn’t forget it.

Petra’s designs feel like wearable ecosystems: adaptable, sustainable, and tailor-made for those who live on the edge. Her show began with nature-inspired decorations and immersive soundscapes, setting the tone for what seemed like a typical runway — until, Boom! — the lights cut out and two models rose into the air. A powerful statement, both literally and figuratively.

With earthy tones, cozy knits, exaggerated volumes, and unexpected textures, Petra delivered one of the most memorable moments of the week — a breathtaking comeback.

The final day proved that fashion isn't just about trends — when it’s honest and bold, it leaves a lasting impression. Even as exhaustion lingered in the air, the energy from these shows did more than just sustain the crowd — it sparked something unforgettable.
