Scandi Vibes in Prague: Where to Taste the North
Scandinavian cuisine has been gaining serious popularity lately—and honestly, I’m not surprised. I had the chance to try it right in the heart of Copenhagen, and it completely won me over. The philosophy is all about quality over decoration, simplicity over extravagance. And while most of us won’t be flying off to Copenhagen just for breakfast, Prague now has a few gems that will transport you straight to Scandinavia—at least in flavor. Here’s my personal top 3 for a taste of the North:

Leading the list—of course—is Bju, arguably the OG of Scandi-inspired cafés in Prague. And rightfully so. Bju stands for simplicity and top-notch quality. Their dishes are minimalist in appearance but bold in flavor. Stop by for breakfast or lunch and enjoy their house-baked bread and granola (which you can even take home!). Yes—they serve a proper Scandinavian breakfast plate, too.
But my personal favorite? Their seasonal strawberry dumplings. If you're in Prague during strawberry season, trust me—it’s a must.
Heads-up: They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait a bit. It’s absolutely worth it.
“Bjukitchen is my dream come true. A dream of a place where people want to come back every day not just for the food and drinks, but because it feels good to be here,” says founder Bára on their website.
And it shows: when you build something from the heart and stay true to your vision, it truly pays off.

Also known as “Little Copenhagen” in Vinohrady, Solo focuses primarily on baked goods—and they absolutely nail it. If you’re in the mood for more than just their luxurious cardamom bun (though that’s a must, too), try their signature Scandi roll with whipped butter and cheese. So simple, yet so incredibly good.
They also serve a classic Scandinavian breakfast plate: whipped butter, soft-boiled egg, quality sliced cheese, a pinch of salt, and a touch of jam. If you’re leaning sweet, go for their homemade buttery roll with whipped butter and jam. Personally? I’d start with the breakfast plate and finish with anything from the pastry counter.
And for my fellow coffee lovers—hot tip: the coffee here is excellent.

Last but definitely not least: meet MOE, Prague’s hottest new bistro-café, which just opened on May 30th. If you haven’t heard about it yet, you probably will soon—it’s already making waves on social media, and the hype is 100% deserved.
Picture this: an effortlessly cool interior, a kind and welcoming team, fantastic coffee and matcha, and food that’ll seriously blow your mind. Their menu features both Scandinavian staples and seasonal or brunch-style dishes—like burrata with tomatoes or their latest culinary experiments. Keep an eye on their Instagram for the latest creations.
Just like Bju and Solo, they don’t take reservations, so come early, bring good vibes, and prepare to fall in love.
So if you're craving a taste of the North, no need to board a plane. Just take a mini food tour around Prague—and let your senses do the traveling.
