Morphology 2025: Zuzana Kubíčková’s Masterclass in Mood and Movement
Last week, the Křižík Pavilion at Prague’s Výstaviště transformed into a portal of poetic fashion as designer Zuzana Kubíčková unveiled her much-anticipated collection, Morphology 2025. In a meticulously curated show, Kubíčková presented 33 looks that blurred the lines between sartorial artistry and performance.
Guests were seated along two opposing runways, divided by an LED screen — a deliberate spatial choice that built intimacy while heightening anticipation. The atmosphere was hushed and dim, with only the soft murmur of the audience filling the space. As a countdown ticked away on the screen, tension and excitement grew — and when the zeros finally appeared, the show ignited in a symphony of sound, movement, and vision.
From the moment the first model emerged, it was clear: this wasn’t just a fashion show. It was a masterfully staged experience. Every detail had been considered and refined — from the evocative soundtrack to the immersive lighting, from the model casting tailored to each look, to the flawless makeup and windswept hairstyles that added drama and motion as models strode past discreetly placed fans.
The choreography unfolded like a visual poem. Looks were introduced one by one, then gradually grouped in carefully orchestrated clusters, allowing colors and silhouettes to weave together in an elegant, dynamic narrative. The interplay between structure and softness, light and shadow, created a hypnotic flow — one that lingered long after the final look exited the runway.
Kubíčková’s Morphology 2025 wasn’t just a collection — it was an experience, a meditation on form, femininity, and the transformative power of fashion.
Nature as Muse: The Organic Poetry of Morphology 2025
Zuzana Kubíčková’s new collection celebrates organic forms. Her designs explore the unexpected order of nature.
In Morphology 2025, Kubíčková captures the invisible principles of nature’s unexpected order: fractal structures, transformations of form, and the interplay of light and shadow. She draws inspiration from natural morphology and the way living organisms evolve throughout their life cycles — from egg to larva, pupa, and finally to the perfect form of the imago.
These transformative states influence the textures of her spring/summer 2025 collection. The textile structures resemble organic fractals — patterns found in living organisms. The fabrics are transparent and layered like insect wings, imparting a sense of lightness and delicate fragility. The collection’s color palette ranges from black to beige and soft pastel shades, to more vibrant tones of red and orange and their shimmering reflections. The visual diversity of the insect world is expressed not only through layered translucent fabrics but also through materials containing metallic fibers — creating shifting, fluid colors that blend into different hues, reminiscent of the iridescent wings of butterflies or beetles. In contrast to these ethereal materials, there are lacquered textiles that evoke the impression of a rigid wing or shell.
Kubíčková also works with small scales of silk organza, composing new patterns, and with feathers applied to fabric to resemble fur.
Just like colorful reflections, the models in Morphology 2025 change in motion, adapting to the body and the surrounding light. The collection redefines the morphology of the female body — the silhouettes are not static but continuously reflect and respond to movement. In these designs, a woman does not become an object but a living organism, reacting to light, motion, and the gaze of others.
Fashion as Transformation: The Symbolism of Change
The transformation of forms in nature parallels the evolution of the human psyche. In Jungian psychology, the butterfly is a symbol of transformation, growth, and overcoming the shadow aspects of the human personality. Kubíčková’s creations evoke this potential for inner transformation — reflected not only in the choice of clothing but also in the very act of wearing it. Her collection celebrates beauty as a catalyst for change and pays homage to the creative process of fashion as a force for cultivating both the individual and society.
Supporting this vision, the Czech hosiery manufacturer Elite — with over 170 years of tradition in knitting production in Krásná Lípa — collaborated with Kubíčková to create original stockings designed specifically for this collection. This partnership is part of Kubíčková’s broader vision to contribute to the resurgence of renowned Czech textile brands.
